Framing Story and Message

Idea 1

In this future people are forced by the government basically to create and manufacture songs that will “serve” everyone in the world as a form of entertainment. If the people are not talented enough to create catchy and good music, then they are disposed of as a form of population control. I got this idea from “What happened to Monday”, where the world is forced to have only one child per family and all other “illegally” conceived children are put into “cryosleep” which is a procedure to put kids to “sleep” until the population comes down to a better amount.

Message

The message is a song in which there are secret messages that people are worth it and that the government isn’t just putting people to sleep, but killing them. It is song to wake people up from a state of being brainwashed and desensitized to the realities of an overpopulated world where the government has total power over the people.

Idea 2

The second idea is a world where it's difficult for people to go to sleep so people start to put chips into their brains to go into VR when they sleep, so that they don’t have nightmares. The nightmares are there because of all the stresses and anxieties that come with it. The VR is multiplayer or it can even be singleplayer in order to fit the person’s needs.

Message

I guess the message for this would be like a piece of code that generates a landscape for people to dwell while in their sleep.

Idea 3

My third idea is a future where people have forgotten how to speak in any language and that Music (the universal language), pun intended, is the only form of communication. The reason they have forgotten languages is bc everyone’s been in VR for too long and only can recognize sound, but don’t remember how to speak. Even though there was language in the VR/AR games and worlds for a long time, they were replaced with signs and easy ways to traverse the VR world. Since signs and hand signals were more commonly used they became more common and therefore language was “replaced”.

Message

Some kind of sign in a VR or game engine like Unity to stop people from using VR or AR for too long in a way that might make them lose track of time in the real world and the traditions of life.

2nd iteration

I feel like I would want to combine the idea of having hard time sleeping and it evolving to something a lot bigger where people are just being "put to sleep by the government".
